“That was the shot ... that killed Harry Lyme," those immortal words began one of the most unique old time radio shows. "The Lives Of Harry Lyme," had a short run on the BBC under the title "The Adventures Of Harry Lyme," but it had a better run in American syndication after it was produced by the firm Towers of London. So who shot Harry Lyme? You'll have to be at Brunch Saturday to find out as Matt Cox and Fred Bertelsen present "The Third Man," the original story of Rollo Martins an American writer of pulp Western fiction who is called to Vienna in 1949 to help his old school chum Harry Lyme with a possible job. Martins has no idea what he's getting in to and it makes the play quite intriguing. Edward Bishop of Philip Marlowe fame stars as Rollo Martins on this Saturday Night Theatre production of Radio 4 from November 13 1971. The play is ninety minutes and will be Matt and Fred's first real lengthy BBC play. Following the play we'll relax with some Bing Crosby music as we continue down the Bing Crosby Trail with the fourth part of Michael Freeland's radio 2 documentary. Do join us won't you? Room opens at 1130 Eastern 1630 UTC for chat with "The Third Man,” beginning at 12.

Please join us.
