Thursday Night – Old Time Radio

Thursday Night – Old Time Radio Presenter, Daniel Vegil

To All Thursday Old-time Radio Fans,

I am playing an Episode of “Lux Radio Theater”, from February 27,
1939, called: “Ceiling Zero”.

According to https://www.oldtimeradiodownloads.com ,
“It’s a romance of the skies, a thrilling drama of the early days of
transport aviation, of the men who made it possible, and of the women
who loved them.  It stars James Cagney as Dizzy Davis, the same part
as he played in the 1936 screen version, and also introduces Cagney’s
sister Jean Cagney, in her first role on radio playing the part of Lou Clarke.”

Be Sure To “Drop” By,

Thursday Night – Old Time Radio Presenter, Matt Cox

We start the year with a new author and as we did a British author last time, I wanted to recrews the pond and bring in someone we’ve looked at but have really never studied.  So we’ll be beginning the works of Herman Melville on radio, starting with Moby Dick.  It is a perfect example of transcendental literature and we’ll be listening to NBC University Theater from April 10 of 1949.  Henry Hull plays Ahab, Hi Averback plays Ishmael.  Looking forward to your company on Thursday.  Matt Cox

Thursday Night – Old Time Radio Ron Bond Presents

This time on Radio Out Of The Past Ron Bond takes us to a kindler
gentler time in the 1950’s as we slow down and listen to the radio
shows not generally remembered by those fully engaged in Television.
We’ll hear “My Son Jeep from 01/25/1953 “The Substitute Teacher”.
We will also hear from Will Rogers Jr in a delightful series of
program called: “Rogers Of the Gazette.
This is the first program of the series from 07081953 “taking over
the newspaper.
